Transnational LGBTQ Organizing in the World and on the Web – International Resource Network’s One-day Symposium

At Transnational LGBT Organizing in the World and on the Web we will highlight researchers, activists, and performers whose work focuses on the areas of gender and sexuality in Africa, Asia, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. We will also be speaking with funders who support international sexual minority work and large-scale internet projects.
Some of the questions that will be posed during this symposium are: How can technology facilitate on-line and “real-world” work and progress for sexual minorities? What are the possibilities and limitations of the International Research Network and other online tools such as social networking and blogs? Why are funders increasingly supporting internet and media projects that organize sexual minorities around the world?
Come discuss how media facilitates both activism and research throughout the global south and meet local and international colleagues.
There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions!
