Cape Town Sex Workers' Open University Seminar
The Cape Town Sex Workers' Open University invites you to attend its second seminar: 'Sex work & the Law: Full Decriminalisation of sex work vs Partial Criminalisation'.
Join us for an interactive discussion as we compare the benefits and shortfalls of both Decriminalisation and Partial Criminalisation. We will also explore how these two forms of law reform might be interpreted in a South African context.
The panel will include:
- Tim Barnett, former New Zealand MP who was instrumental in getting sex work decriminalised in his country
- Annabel Raw, a South African student based in Sweden who recently completed research that compared Decriminalisation and the Swedish Model of partial criminalisation
- Stacey-Leigh Manoek, Women’s Legal Centre attorney and human rights defender
- Mickey Meji, African Sex Worker Alliance SA coordinator, sex worker activist and member of the Decriminalisation Working Group
