华中科大：学校不会歧视同性恋学生 “我对同性恋能理解，我们学校对同性恋也不歧视。”2011年1月，华中科大校长李培根与学生“拉家常”，有学生问及大学生同性恋时，“根叔”的回答引发众人尖叫。 当晚，应该校大学生的呼吁与邀请，根叔在大学生活动中心与学生面对面交流。从教学科研、到学生的日常生活，大学生们的提问涉及诸多方面，而根叔耐心地均一一作了回答。 现场有同学大胆提问：华中科大夏增民老师开设了性别课堂，“根叔”对同性恋问题有什么样的看法？学校对同性恋学生有没有特殊关照？ 李培根先是一愣，继而他与大家交流了自己对同性恋的理解。他告诉大家：“我们学校还从未讨论过这个问题，但整个社会对同性恋都能够理解，至少是容忍态度。我们年轻的时候，同性恋是违法的，现在时代不同了，世界更多的国家对同性恋采取理解的态度。老百姓以前反感，现在能够容忍。我们学校对同性恋没有歧视。” 根叔认为，不管有没有同性恋倾向，每一个学生都是学校的孩子，学校理所应当对他们进行关心。 （新闻来源：长江日报）
